The journey so far

Before working professionally as an Artist in 2024, painting was a hobby since childhood, and it was during those years that I practised many different techniques, materials and themes. Living in rural Nicaragua, I grew up without electricity and Internet, so it was in these precious moments that I self-taught myself many things, including the English language, how to play guitar and how to paint. Below you will find some of my earliest works, along with commissions and portraits for sale.

Manifest Teddie

For a very long time, I was praying for Teddie. Some may call this painting a form of manifestation, and perhaps it was because I decided to paint the woman I was praying for, and three months after its completion, Teddie walked into my life.

The crush

We all grew up having a crush, and this lady was one of mine, a famous actress in a vampire TV series. One day, I decided to paint her, and she was one of my earliest paintings using pastel, and although a little crumpled now, I'm proud of my humble beginnings.

Casa de piña

Another early painting of mine, showing the fields of pineapples that grow around where we live. There are also many mountains and volcanoes, which I also painted in this painting using pastels, on canva in my outdoor nature-filled studio.

Childhood memories

Ever travelled to Central America? This may remind you of my home and is a typical landscape of where we live in beautiful tropical Nicaragua.

Nica fruits

Tropical fruits, local to many regions in Central America. We have many mango trees at home alongside dragon fruit and bananas.

Nica friends

We have many different species of monkeys in Nicaragua, but the most known is the howler monkey, identified by their almighty howling.

Commission: Blacky

This is a beloved pet that belonged to a lady in Nicaragua, and sadly, he passed due to complications with anaesthesia. He was painted on wood using acrylic paint.

Commission: Elephants

Another painting on wood using acrylics, to paint a family of elephants for someone whose motherland is Zimbabwe, Africa. Art is a wonderful way to create dear home memories.

Commission: Dirty Pete

This little guy was another fur baby, whose memory is now immortalised in wood. He had a long and fulfilling life with his mum, who now lives in New York City.

Commission:

Grandparents wedding day

Painting this beautiful couple from their wedding day in the 1960s was a moving moment for me as it was just before mine and Teddie's wedding day. What a joy it was to create this on canva with acrylic for a granddaughter who gifted it to her grandmother, the lady in the painting.

Commission:

Departed Nanny Jenny

This is Teddie's grandmother, who very quickly passed from leukaemia in 2022, two months after Teddie moved in with me. This was the first painful reality of living abroad for Teddie, but we managed to return to the UK for the funeral, which is where we gifted her father this painting of his beautiful mum.

Commission:

Departed mamá y Papá

A dear mother and father who sadly passed a year and a half apart due to terminal cancer. They were lovingly painted on canva with acrylics for a wonderful lady in the USA. It is always an honour to be asked to paint loved ones who have passed, as keeping ones spirit alive through Art is a true 'treasure.
