Hola, I'm Félix
Born and raised in beautiful tropical Nicaragua, or as Teddie calls it, the jungle! We now live here together, in the same home where my father and I were born, and it's also where I create Art.
Born into a family of farmers, my biggest achievement and most important qualification has been that of land custodian. Over the years, I have learned how to grow many foods while simultaneously nurturing the diverse ecosystem in which we live in harmony with. Nature is also my greatest inspiration, and I believe it allows me to decipher and translate the Art that I create. My other credentials include electrician, carpenter, musician and Spanish teacher.
Growing up, I always dreamed of being able to speak English, and so I decided to teach myself with books and old school cassettes, but there was a passion that I was keeping hidden from all, until I met Teddie. When she first saw one of my paintings, she had tears in her eyes and questioned why I do not share my work with the world.
I had already become a multicoloured sheep of the family since swapping my full-time machete for full-time teaching, so declaring myself as an Artist would have led to more confusion, disbelief, and even disappointment, so I kept my Art practice as a secret hobby. With Teddie's support and belief in my Art, I started to believe in myself and slowly started to venture into showing more of my work online, finally transitioning into a full-time Artist.
For the last year, I have had the honour to paint for others around the world, and it brings such joy to see the happiness of others after receiving the Art that was created for them. My only wish is to have the opportunity to continue painting for others and spreading more joy and love through Art.
If you would like to get in touch with us or enquire about commissioning me for your piece, then we would love to hear from you.
